Here's the latest from Bryan County communication's manager Matthew Kent:
Governor Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency for this area at 1:15 p.m. today that allows the state to enact emergency powers such as a statute against price gouging and fraudulent companies offering storm related repairs. Please thoroughly research any company that you do business with, especially if they are from outside the local area. Anyone who encounters storm fraud is encouraged to report that person by visiting consumer.ga.gov or by calling 1-800-869-1123.
A State of Emergency remains in effect for damaged areas of North. There has been significant damage to the Park Place and Homestead Drive neighborhoods, Hendrix Park, Black Creek Golf Club, and the areas of Pembroke including the County complex. Avoid these areas as you go about your day. At this point, a curfew will again be in effect for the impacted areas from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
If you need non-emergency help, to request a welfare check, or to report large debris, please call (912) 858- INFO. A debris management schedule will be available on April 7, 2022.
All courts will be closed until further notice. All County business will be conducted at the Bryan County administration building in Richmond Hill at 66 Captain Matthew Freeman Drive until further notice.
This is the final update for tonight, unless the approaching storms cause more issues.
