From Bryan County Sheriff’s Office reports:

Warrant executed: A deputy stopped a white BMW about 1:30 a.m. June 6 on Highway 204 because a headlight was out. One of the taillight lenses was busted, too. While talking to the driver, a woman, he recognized the passenger, a 48-year-old man who was wanted in Bryan County. He was arrested.

Warrant executed: A 33-year-old man was arrested by Chatham County deputies and turned over to BCSO at 2:57 a.m. June 8. They met at Highway 204 and Morgans Bridge Road. The man was taken to Bryan County Jail.

Meth, DUI, more: A deputy was asked to help “assist with a disabled vehicle involving a possible intoxicated driver,” at some point on the night of June 8. The vehicle was in the left lane on Highway 17 near Proman Road and had a left front tire. The driver was in the car, and “was sweating profusely despite the outside temperature being in the low 70s and the male only wearing a t-shirt and shorts,” the report said.

After some back and forth, the man was found to smell of alcohol, a sobriety test was begun but stopped by the man, who was arrested. A search of his car turned up “black bag containing a green glass pipe and a yellow pineapple-shaped glass pipe, both of which are commonly used for the consumption of methamphetamine,” the report continued, noting the deputy also found a black lockbox which had “a white crystal-like substance and a white glass pipe,” commonly used to smoke meth.

With help from an RHPD officer, a field test showed the stuff was meth. The deputy also found a digital scale with “white crystal-like residue” on it in the trunk.

The man was charged with “multiple traffic-related offenses, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug related objects,” the report said.

He was taken to jail.
