Brian Strahan threw a three-hit, complete game shutout and catcher Justin Henle drove in the only run of the game as Richmond Hill High School (11-12, 10-2 Region 3-AAAAA) beat Glynn Academy 1-0 on Tuesday in an important 3-AAAAA baseball game.
Strahan gave up two first inning hits but got out of it with no damage the rest of the way. Henle went 2-3 and drove in Chaise Parker with two outs after Parker doubled. Both teams threatened several more times but no runs could score.
Glynn Academy fell to 13-8 overall and 8-4 in the region.
Strahan was helped by two pick-offs, one by him and the other by Henle and great catches in the outfield by Michael Teston and Alex Peraldo. Glynn Academy’s Ryan Lawless pitched a great game himself striking out nine Wildcats in a complete game. The Wildcats led the region by 1.5 games going into Friday night’s home contest against Ware County.
Richmond Hill plays host to Jenkins at 1 p.m. today. The team’s seniors will be honored in a ceremony starting at 12:45 p.m.
