Praise the Lord!

Psalm 150 starts out with these powerful words, “Praise the Lord”. Have you thought why we should praise the Lord?

First, we praise Him because of who He is. He is worthy of our praise due to the fact that He is the creator of literally all of creation.

Psalm 24:1 reminds us that the earth belongs to Him as well as everything on it. He also is all-powerful, which means there is nothing He cannot do. Then, He loves His creation; according to John 3:16 this is why He provides a way to be saved from the power and penalty of sin. We could say much more about Him because He is so much more.

Secondly, we praise Him for all that He has done and is still doing. We praise Him because of all that we have in order to survive. There are so many things we take for granted like food, water, shelter, and clothing. There is freedom, our eyesight, our hearing, and the ability to taste and smell. Then there are the things that money can’t buy such as peace, forgiveness, and the promise of eternal life. If you are trusting in the Lord, you will find yourself thinking and saying with regularity, “God is so good”.

We need to make it a daily practice and start each and every day by praising God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
