“Bryan County Schools has a long history of academic excellence and recruiting and retaining the very best teachers and staff, resulting in a strong climate and culture. Throughout this process, the board was focused on finding a leader who understood the unique makeup of Bryan County, the high expectations of our community, and a leader who would continue to build upon the success of our district. Mr. Miller has been a long standing and beloved administrator, with a record of fostering high academic success and ensuring the very best for all students. He believes in the power of public education and the ability of all children to reach their fullest potential. We are pleased to announce him as our sole finalist,” said Mrs. Amy Murphy, Board Chair on behalf of the Board of Education.
Mrs. Murphy added, “Staff and community surveys suggested that high academic performance was the top priority for the new Superintendent. Managing growth, recruiting and retaining quality staff, and the ability to build relationships with staff, students and parents were also identified as top priorities.
Under Mr. Miller’s leadership, Richmond Hill High School students have achieved significant academic growth and strong overall performance while the school successfully navigated rapid growth and expansion. His commitment to fostering positive relationships, maintaining clear communication, and supporting both students and staff reflects the very qualities stakeholders identified as most important throughout the survey process. These accomplishments, combined with his extensive leadership experience and student-centered approach, make Mr. Miller an exceptional choice to lead Bryan County Schools into the future.”
I am truly humbled and genuinely excited to serve as the next Superintendent of Bryan County Schools”, stated Mr. Miller. For the past 14 years, I have had the privilege of serving in this district and seeing firsthand what makes the Bryan County School System special: visionary leadership, outstanding educators, supportive families, hardworking students, and a community that truly believes in the value of public education.
Bryan County has always been a place where vision, innovation, and opportunity come together. The historical influence of leaders such as Henry Ford and George Washington Carver serves as a strong reminder that communities are built by investing in people, believing in the power of education, and creating opportunities that last for generations. That spirit is not just part of our history. It is still alive in our classrooms, in our schools, and in the work being done every day for students across this district.
As we look to the future, we must also take time to glance at the rearview mirror and appreciate the foundation that brought us to this moment. Bryan County Schools has built a culture of excellence, opportunity, and student success. That work did not happen by accident. It is the result of people who showed up with their time, their effort, and their energy, who cared deeply, led with purpose, and kept students at the center of every decision.
Moving forward, our vision will remain consistent and clear. We will continue to build on this foundation with a commitment to excellence and success in ALL we do. I am excited about the opportunities ahead, grateful for the trust placed in me, and honored to continue serving alongside the incredible people who make Bryan County Schools such a special place. At the heart of it all, we will remain focused on students, challenging and motivating them through rigorous learning experiences, continuously improving in our service to them, and building a future defined by their success, growth, and limitless potential.
