The Richmond Hill Middle School volleyball team capped an undefeated season with the program’s first region championship.

The Wildcats won the region title on their home court Monday with a two-game sweep of Ebenezer Middle School, 25-8 and 25-14.

Mackenzie Petermann had nine kills for RHMS, Jameson Kanicki served five aces and Sidney Beasley dished out 11 assists.

“I have never been more impressed by a group of girls and their determination and work ethic to meet their goals this season,” head coach Taisa Tremble said.

In only its third year, the Richmond Hill Middle School volleyball team made its first appearance in a region championship match.

“The girls set out at the beginning of the season to put Richmond Hill on the map with volleyball, and successfully executed it every step of the way,” Tremble said. “Their determination was illustrated through their hard work in every practice, every drill, every match and every point. The leadership from our captains and eighth-graders on the team was outstanding and key to our success this season.”
