More accolades for BCHS athletes

Bryan County High School had several athletes recognized when Region 3 Public all-region teams for boys and girls soccer and tennis were announced.

The boys soccer team reached the second round of the GHSA Class 3A state playoffs where it lost to Georgia Military. Seniors Elijah Gray and Connor Story and junior Kelly Longino were named first team all-region while honorable mention honors went to Chris Patel, Ernie Hernandez, Caleb Penland and Jay McKinney.

Kyndal Leggett, whose brother Konnor was the region’s Offensive Player of the Year in baseball, also earned some bragging rights in the Leggett household when she was named first team on the girls all-region soccer team. Skylar Lee was also first team while Emery Adams and Haley Thomas were honorable mention.

Led by senior Hannah Butler the girls tennis team was another Redskins team to reach the second round of the state playoffs. For her efforts Butler was first team all-region while Clara Howard, Amber Gray, Jada Conley and Sarah Conner were were honorable mention.

Colton Gunter, who is one of top shooters on the school’s clay shooting team, was honorable mention on the all-region boys tennis team.
