There is something special about not feeling alone, especially when we are going through difficult times.

As followers and believers in Jesus, we know that we serve a God who has promised His continual presence.

The statement, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” is found 3 times in God’s Word; Deuteronomy 31:8, Joshua 1:5, and Hebrews 13:5.

Even if those close to us fail to be there for us, God’s presence is assured.

Psalm 27:10 reminds us of this promise when it says, “Though my father and mother forsake me, then the Lord will take care of me”.

It is wonderful to be part of what is known as “the family of God”. One of our responsibilities is to be there for each other, especially during those difficult times.

Paul states it this way in 1 Thessalonians 5:11: “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

We need to appreciate and be thankful for the fact that we can be lifted up both from our heavenly Father but also fellow believers. We also need to be eager to be there for others in their time of need.
