Richmond Hill High School downed Wayne County 11-1 on Tuesday in a key Region 2A-AAAA softball showdown in Jesup.
"We put together our best game last night," coach Sean Strickland said. "Top to bottom we played great."
Molly Burnsed and Ally Crum combined to hold the No. 5-ranked Yellow Jackets to four hits. The loss dropped Wayne County to 20-2.
Lauren Simerly was 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBIS for Richmond Hill. Cheyenne Marsh went 2 for 4 with a double and RBI, Kaylee Vaughn was 1 for 4 and drove in two runs, and Amy Robben had to hits in four at bats.
Richmond Hill (10-16 overall) plays at Glynn Academy on Thursday in a region game.
