The Richmond Hill Lady Wildcats took back-to-back wins over Woodland Wednesday in the first round of the state playoffs. The Lady Cats eked out a 14-13 win in dramatic fashion during game one.
It took 11 innings to decide the winner during the first matchup. Woodland took an 13-11 lead at the top of the 11thlooking to secure the win. But Lady Wildcat Katie Petty smashed a three run walk-off homer to claim the win.
Petty finished the game 3-of-4 with 4 RBIs; Natalie Corbin was 3-of-5 with 1 RBI; Caroline Williams went 2-of-4 with 3 RBIs; Liz Wallace was 5-of-6 with 1 RBI; Adrianna Garrett was 3-of-5 with 1 RBI. Lady Cat Morgan Hunter pitched nine innings, Sam Mault pitched the final two.
In the second game of the best of three series the Wildcats won 3-2 in a complete game. Garrett reached base twice scoring one run and getting 1RBI in the win. Mault had five strikeouts in six innings pitched.
The Richmond Hill girls are 19-16 overall. Information regarding their next playoff game was not posted on maxpreps.com or game changer.
