Friday Fun Run Back this week

The next Friday Night Fun Run is at 6:30 p.m. Friday at JF Gregory Park.

Sponsors of the free fun runs, Tim & Dave’s Nursery and Georgia Game Changers Running Company, are both excited about the community’s participation in the Friday Night Fun Runs so far.

More than 30 people participated in the first run, according to Tim Fortier, owner of Tim & Dave’s Nursery.

“Each of the participants received a ribbon, which was specially created for the runs,” he said. “The 3-mile course provides a beautiful setting for runners or walkers, and a chance for participants to track their progress, as the run will be timed.”

Sandra Elliott, owner of Georgia Game Changers is thrilled that this Friday’s run coincides with the Friday  on the Train, which is held at the Station Exchange, and where there will be live music, food, and various vendors.

“We will definitely encourage our Fun Run participants to stay local, and enjoy what Richmond Hill has to offer,” said Elliott.

Top runners from the June 6 run included Ken Beasley, (21:04), Mike Argenta (21:26), and Eric Adamski (23:48) in the Male category, while Emily Hollowell (22:19), Pamela Howe (25:40), and Brandye Finnegan (25:52) were the fastest of the female runners.

Future Friday Night Fun Runs will be June 27, July 11 and 18, and Aug. 1, 8, and 15.

Fun Run participants are encouraged to sign up on the Georgia Game Changers Running Company’s Facebook page, or contact the store at 912-445-2163 for more information.
