Richmond Hill basketball senior Lexana Oge has committed to Randolph College to continue her athletic and academic career.

“I really liked the fact that it was not a huge college and the class sizes were smaller,” Oge said. “The facilities for basketball are also very nice and it was a great team atmosphere.

“My overall recruiting journey went really well. I enjoyed being able to see all of the campuses and hear the plans that each coaching staff had for me if I went to their school," Oge said.

While basketball is what sport she will be playing in college, Oge has much bigger plans in her academic career that will lead to what she wants to do after her basketball career.

“I will be majoring in biochemistry at Randolph,” Oge said. “My career goal is to be a forensic scientist someday after basketball ends.”

Although Oge is headed into the next phase of her life very soon, there are some things that she will miss about her high school experience.

“I will miss the atmosphere and how connected we all are.” Oge said. “My teammates are like a family to me, so I will really miss the bonds that we made.”

“We are extremely proud of Lexi and all of her hard work,” head girls’ basketball coach Sarah Jones said. “She is such a great kid and has put in a lot of work to get this opportunity. We can’t wait to see her excel at the next level.”
