Our God really cares
pastor corner

The other day as I was involved in my daily prayer walk, I looked down and noticed a dead Cardinal (red bird) laying at the side of the road.

My thoughts went directly to the portion of scripture in Matthew 10:29 where it states, “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.” In other words, our heavenly Father takes notice when one of his creation dies. The point He is making in this portion of scripture is if He notices a bird die then how much more will He notice what is going on in our lives. The scripture goes on to say in verse 31, “So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”

Jesus here is speaking to those who were following Him, so, we who are His followers today should understand that our Father is watching over us and our concerns. I love the truth from an old southern gospel song entitled, “The Eyes of Jesus”, and here is a portion of it: “Some times it seems God’s a million miles away Too busy for a creature such as I And then I think of how He sees each sparrow fall I call on Him and find that He is nigh The eyes of Jesus are upon each footstep that I take His ears are always open when I pray His hands are always there to help me lift my heavy load His heart is broken every time I stray.”

We need to trust each day that our Father knows what we need because He is watching each step that we take and we daily trust in Him.
