Jesus, scripture are not ‘alleged’
pastor corner

I was listening to the news the other day where the anchor was talking about a crime that had been committed.

He used the phrase “alleged crime,” while at the same time showing a clip of the actual crime being committed.

I do understand the reason he said it was because the case had not yet gone to court, but the evidence was right before my eyes.

The truth of the matter is that people are sometimes wrong about what they thought they saw. Also, there can be things that happened that might have been left out of that segment of a video.

The word “allege” means, “A person or an incident that has accusation but not proven or convicted as being true.”

My mind went quickly to the topic of Jesus. Some might say it is alleged that Jesus is the Son of God, that he lived a sinless life, that he died for the sins of the world, was raised to life, and is sitting in heaven next to God the Father interceding for believers.

There are reasons why I believe that is completely true and not just alleged.

1. The scriptures tell us so.

One example is found in 1 Corinthians 15, verses 3-4: “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures ...”

Archeologist have confirmed the reliability of the word of God as well.

2. People throughout history were willing to die for Jesus Christ and Christianity because they knew that it was true.

3. I personally have experienced confirmation in so many ways that Jesus is real.

The good news is that Jesus and what he has done for the world can be real for you as well if you will open up your heart and receive him into your life.
