Proverbs 19:21 says, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” The truth of the matter is that the Lord has a plan in the midst of whatever is going on.
We don’t always see it, nor do we always understand it, but nothing surprises him or catches him off guard. He is always present and is always faithful to those of us who choose to honor and trust in him.
We find some examples in Biblical history that reveal these truths. One of them is found in Genesis, chapters 37-50, where we find the story of Joseph.
Early in his life he had dreams about a high position he would be in. He didn’t realize that God had to lead him through a chain of events that would result in humbling experiences for himself and the actual saving of a nation of people.
Right now we don’t see it nor do we understand why we are going through this pandemic, but God has allowed it to be here so that in the end many will come through this as better people and God will receive honor.
Our responsibility is to be wise, be dependent on God’s mercy, and to continue to trust in him.
