Two people were killed and another man is in critical condition after a head-on collision shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday on Highway 280 in North Bryan.
The victims were identified as Leamon Hills, 32, of Pembroke and Gail King, 67, of Reidsville, according to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Dante Williams.
Thomas Godwin, 24, of Pembroke, is in critical condition at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.
Trooper Williams said Godwin was driving a Nissan Altima north on 280 toward I-16 when he crossed the road, hitting a Toyota Camry driven by King head on. Hills was a passenger in Godwin’s car.
Two other vehicles heading north toward I-16 were run off the road during the accident, the GSP said, and were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah.
