A woman charged with stabbing an Evans County man to death turned herself in Thursday evening after warrants were issued for her arrest.

Evans County Sheriff Randall Tippins said Sabrina Marie Hampton, 29, of Highway 280 East near in Claxton, reported to authorities Thursday after deputies and Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents contacted her father, seeking her whereabouts in order to serve warrants.

Hampton is charged with murder in connection to the death of her alleged boyfriend, Calvin Oglesbee, whose body was found Oct. 6 in a home at Deloach's Mobile Home Park on Highway 280 east of Daisy, near the Bryan County line.

GBI Special Agent-in-Charge Catherine Sapp said Wednesday that Oglesbee's death was ruled a homicide.

"The investigation is in preliminary stages and is still ongoing," she said.

Tippins said the stabbing death was related to a domestic disagreement between Oglesbee and Hampton. The couple has a history of domestic calls, and Evans County sheriff's deputies have responded to their homes in the past, he said.

Oglesbee's body was sent to the GBI medical examiner's office in Savannah for an autopsy, Sapp said.

Hampton was processed at the Evans County Jail and transferred to the Bulloch County Jail, where she is being held without bond as she awaits further court hearings, according to jail reports.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Statesboro GBI Office at (912) 871-1121 or the Evans County Sheriff's Office at (912) 739-1611.
