Richmond Hill officials at the May 3 city council meeting honored five residents with the “Bloom where you’re planted” award.

“Bloom where you’re planted” was coined by longtime local educator Frances Meeks, often referred to as the “First Lady of Bryan County Education,” and is now the name of an honor from the city given to those who make a positive impact on their community.

Those who received the award, shown from left, are Paige Glazer, publisher of Reflections magazine; Kathryn Johnson, CEO of the Richmond Hill-Bryan County Chamber of Commerce; Jon Seagraves, Chief Banking Officer at Great Oaks Bank and chairman of the Development Authority of Bryan County, and James and Lynetta Smith, creators of Combat Boots 2 the Boardroom.
