Richmond Hill residents will soon see a new look at the Sawmill Shopping Plaza located on Ford Avenue now that the building’s exterior renovations have begun.
Steve Myers said he and his wife, Vicki, bought the property in May as an investment. The Richmond Hill couple felt the property needed improvements.
“I think it was probably one of the worst conditioned shopping centers in Richmond Hill, and the new facelift will make it more compatible with the city,” he said.
The buildings new façade will mimic the Parker’s Market on Ford Avenue at Timber Trail Road, he said, and will include an awning and new lighting, as well as a stucco and metal exterior.
“The new lighting will be very attractive and make people feel safer,” he said.
Myers said changes to the parking lot will also be made in order to make the businesses more accessible and help the flow of traffic.
