The Grass Strip Foundation, a new organization to promote civil aviation, is having its first open house Saturday at Berg Park Aerodrome near Midway.
The public, especially youngsters, are welcome. Berg, who is trying to develop an air-park subdivision around his grass-strip airport, said he hopes to have several interesting aircraft fly in for the festivities as well as art and/or craft people showing their work.
Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served starting around noon.
“Come out and learn a bit more about aviation, one of the greatest assets in the USA,” the pilot said.
His airport is on Old Gress Island Road off Isle of Wight Road just east of Midway.
For more information, call Berg 884-8666.
