TYBEE ISLAND — Tybee Island will show its final Movies in the Park, "Minions," at sundown Aug. 20.

The final movie for the 2016 summer season will be shown at Memorial Park, compliments of the city, Doc’s, Tybee Island YMCA and Tybee Time Sports Bar.

This grassroots effort for family fun began two summers ago and has grown with community support. The park is off Butler Avenue next to the library at 405 Butler Ave.

"Minions," a spin-off from "Despicable Me" features the voices of Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm. One minion, Kevin, is joined by Stuart, a teenage rebel, and little Bob on an adventure that leads to Scarlet Overkill, the world’s first-ever female super-villain, creating excitement for them and movie-goers.

"We look forward to seeing everyone come out to the park with their picnic blankets or lawn chairs and dinner," program board director Brenda Marion said.

If it rains, the movie will air in the YMCA.
