Christian music festival benefits Family Promise
Family of Faith

The second annual Family of Faith Christian Music Festival to benefit Family Promise of Bryan County is set for 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 29.

The festival will be held at Richmond Hill United Methodist Church and all proceeds will go into Family Promise of Bryan County’s general fund.

Organizers say the event will feature choirs and bands from all around our community. Each group will be assigned a 30-minute time slot, with 10 minutes between groups.

Groups that have already committed include The Hilltoppers (a Southern gospel men’s quartet), Restoration Worship Center Praise Team, Life Moves Dance Studio, Emmanuel Christian Church Choir/Praise Team/Step Team and the Bryan County Mass Choir.

More than 10 groups are expected.

Mass choir

Even if you are not part of another choir, including the Chancel Choir at RHUMC, you can participate in the festival. The Bryan County Mass Choir, a community choir open to all singers, is recruiting.

It has been rehearsing since late August and will have a full final rehearsal on Oct. 23 at Richmond Hill UMC. There is no fee to sing with the mass choir, but donations are welcome to offset the cost of music.

Tickets and vendors

Admission to the festival will be $10 for adults, $5 for students and free for kids under 6 years old. Members of performing groups get in free to watch other groups, but are asked to remember this is a fundraiser, and may choose to purchase a ticket anyway. Advance tickets are on sale now, and will be available at the door. Admission is good for all day.

Booth space for vendors cost $35 per each. If you would like to rent vendor space, go to www.familypromisebryancounty.org/christian-music-festival.html for information and registration forms. There will also be a concession stand selling a variety of food items throughout the day.

How to help

Lots of volunteers are needed to make the event a success.

If you would like to help, rent space or just want more information, contact Jeanne Wallace, festival coordinator and director of the music ministry at Richmond Hill UMC. The church office phone number is 912-756-2190. Add extension 206 for the music office.
