July 19
Kayak/Canoe Float Trip — From 8 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Ogeechee River Landing, Fort Stewart’s Outdoor Recreation Center is inviting military families and their friends on a leisurely float down select South Georgia Rivers. Lifeguards will be on the trip to assist if needed. Bring your own lunch for a picnic on a sandbar or shaded area. Youth under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Paddlers must be at least 12 years old. Cost is $20 per person. Register at Holbrook Outdoor Recreation Center, building 8325 or call 767-4316.

Movie Night Under the Stars — The Ice Cream Stop in Richmond Hill invites the community to a free family fun night of movie watching under the stars. The movie will begin at dusk. Guests are asked to bring a lawn chair. Visit the The Ice Cream Stop’s Facebook page for more information.

New Beginnings Community Church Vacation Bible — From 6-8 p.m., youth ages 4 to middle school are invited to the church’s VBS program. This year’s theme is “Wilderness Escape.” Free registration can be found by visiting www.nbcchurch.com or by calling 445-0196.

July 22
Richmond Hill Farmer’s Market — Stop by the farmer’s market between 3-7 p.m., at the pavilion at the J.F. Gregory Park. A variety of produce and local crafts will be available for purchase. July 23
Public Library Summer Performance  – The community is invited to the Richmond Hill United Methodist Church at 2 p.m., for the Richmond Hill Public Library’s summer performance. The performance will feature magician Arthur Atsma, with a program called “Magic Science Circus.” The performance encourages children to read and has a science theme. Children of all ages are welcome to attend this free event.

Patriotic Yappy Hour  – From 6-8 p.m., at Fish Tales Restaurant at Fort McAllister Marina, a patriotic themed Yappy Hour and fancy dress competition awaits the community and their tail-wagging friends. A percentage of the proceeds from the restaurant will go to the Bryan County Bark Park that night. Dogs can enjoy doggie smoothies in tropical honey or peanut butter blueberry flavors. Dogs can enter a red, white and blue costume contest. Prizes will be awarded at 8 p.m.
