Annual Pembroke Christmas parade, festival set for Dec. 8

The Bryan County 4-H Club and the city of Pembroke will host the 29th annual Christmas Parade and Festival on Dec. 8.

This year’s theme is “Christmas in the Square.”

Entertainment will be from noon –4 p.m. and will include local celebrities such as Corey Smith, Byron Hatcher, Michelle Aspen and Marty Pye. Rides, inflatables, ponies and a train will be provided for children. The car-and-motorcycle show begins at 1 p.m.

The parade will start at 11 a.m. and will feature a number of floats from area churches, businesses, beauty queens, local and area dignitaries, antique tractors, classic cars and motorcycles, and Shriners. Santa will end the parade and will be available for pictures throughout the day.

Groups, clubs, vendors and individuals are invited to reserve a booth for homemade arts and crafts, foods, refreshments, information, etc. No flea-market booths are allowed. Booth sizes are 12-by-12 with space between each booth. Vendors will be responsible for bringing tables, chairs, etc.

Each booth space is $45. Electricity can be provided for an additional $7.

The booths will be open for business from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
