Redskins get the win over SEB

The Redskins defense played lights out, Jeremy McClendon threw a 42-yard pass touchdown pass to Marcus Johnson and Christian Thomas added a 40-yard field goal to propel Bryan County High School to a 10-7 win over Southeast Bulloch in a Thursday night game.

The Redskins scored all 10 points in the first half. SEB answered with a third quarter scoring drive of it own, but the BCHS defense kept the Tigers out of the end zone the rest ofthe way.

Stats were unavailable by press time, but the win was Bryan County’s first of 2014.

The Redskins (1-2) open Region 2-AA play Sept. 19 when they play host to Groves.

Wildcats at BI

Richmond Hill High School played Friday night at Bradwell Institute after the News’ deadline. More available online at www.bryancountynews.net.

RHMS volleyball

Ebenezer topped Richmond Hill Middle School 2-1 in a three game set on Thursday at RHMS.

The Wildcats won the opening game 25-8, but fell 20-25 and 10-15 in the final two games.

Earlier in the week, the Wildcats topped Burke County 25-20 and 25-10.
