Howard leads local cross country finishers

Howard top local finisher at state

Bryan County High School's Tiffany Howard  finished 31st at the Class A cross country meet on Nov. 6 in Carrollton, pacing the Lady Redskins to an 18th place finish.
Howard had a time of 21 minutes, 21.11 seconds at the 5,000-meter course.
Her teammates fared as follows: Rachel Anderson finished 101st with a time of 24:39.54; Courtney Markles placed 119th with a time of 25:35.69; Macy Newman finished 131st with a time of 26:23.08; Hailey Stevens clocked a 26:55 to place 144th; Makayla Peny was 149th with a time of 27:21.99.
The Redskins placed 23rd in the boy's competition. Trent Minis led the way with a time of 20:51.46 to place 136th while Justin Jones finished 139th with a time of 20:53.62.
Andre Anderson and Devin Sharpe finished 141st and 142nd, respectively, with times of 20:57.26 and 20:57.67. DeeJay Acain was 174th with a 22:51.40.
Richmond Hill High School finished 28th in the girls' Class AAAA meet. The trio of Morgan Stubblefield, Tina Shawyri and Chelsey Callahan paced Richmond Hill, placing 158th, 159th, and 160th. Stubblefield's time was 23.37.77, Shawyri finished the course in 23:39.95 and Callahan turned in a 23:52.75.
Taylor Carpenter placed 168th with a time of 24:26.16 and Shanee McKee was 170th after covering the course in 24:37.32.
Also competing for RHHS were Arisa Spill, whose 25:06.99 was good for 178th place, and Taylor Ivester, who ran a 26:02.07 to place 195th.
