RHFD accepting applications for junior firefighter pilot program

Richmond Hill Fire department is launching a junior firefighter pilot program. They are looking for 10 participants, who are interested in becoming a career firefighter one day. 

Junior Firefighters are required to attend training, meetings, drills, fundraising events, and station projects.

  Junior Firefighters must be in at least 8th grade or be 14 years of age, and they can participate until 18 years old. They do not have to be Bryan County residents or Richmond Hill students.

 

  • Junior Firefighters need to maintain at least a "C" average in middle or high school coursework.
  • The cost of the program is $50 annually in addition to the cost of field trips or any uniform items not provided by the department.
  • A parent or legal guardian's permission is required to participate in the program.

 

Becoming a Junior Firefighter provides participants with basic safety training, first aid skills, and valuable hands-on experience.
