Local public safety officials were recently recognized when the Richmond Hill Exchange Club hosted its annual Public Safety Awards Banquet honoring seven individuals.
The club hosts the banquet every year to show an appreciation for the daily duties of firefighters, police officers, paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMT) and others.
Exchange Club President Geoff Carson said the club asks each department to select their most deserving worker and then provides a plaque and lunch for the winners.
"We leave the choice of the honorees to their respective departments because those men and women are most familiar with their members and those members' contributions to their organizations."
