Aid to other agency
Bryan County deputies assisted units with the Effingham County Sheriffs’ Office on a vehicle pursuit between Effingham County officers and an arrested offender.
Domestic dispute
Deputies were dispatched in response to a father not exchanging custody of one child to the mother.
DUI, multiple substances
Man driving a black Jeep was arrested for the above charges.
Fire-vehicle
Deputy responds to I-16 Westbound, where a black Genesis G90 was engulfed in flames. The driver informed the deputy that that engine was overheating prior to the driver pulling over. The Bryan County Fire Department extinguished the fire and the car was towed.
Theft by shoplifting
Deputy responded to Ken’s IGA in reference to an unrelated call. While there, the store owner said that a juvenile was stealing gift cards from the store, which happened in December 2024. The store owner tried to get in touch with the parents of the juvenile but was unsuccessful.
Failure to maintain lane, driving while license suspended or revoked Man driving on Highway 204 eastbound arrested for the above offenses.
Tag/registration requirements, driving with suspended license Man traveling on I-95 southbound was arrested for the above offenses.
Failure to signal when turning or changing, coasting prohibited A man driving a gold Lincoln Continental failed to use his turn signal while getting onto the I-95 ramp.
Suspicious incident
Deputy responds to an address in response to possible trespassing/burglary.
Animal complaint
Deputy responds to a call regarding a dead goose. The complainant advises that as he was playing at the playground with his daughter, he heard what sounded like a firecracker coming from the tree line of the nearby pond. Shortly after, the complainant saw a set of geese fly off and one of them passed out next to the pond. After a brief investigation, he believed that the goose was shot by someone.
Speeding, no license
Woman travelling on I-95 Northbound was arrested for the above offenses.
Matter of record
Deputies were dispatched in response to a criminal trespass. A woman reports that an unknown individual pulled into her driveway as she was sitting in her vehicle. The individual stayed onto her property for approximately 2-5 minutes before leaving. A report was filed.
Criminal Trespass
Complainant reports that a man attempted to hit his vehicle while it was parked at the Calvary Church parking lot. The man in question also has a Criminal Trespass order on him (requested from the Church) which was granted on Oct. 31, 2023. The man was arrested and taken to Bryan County Jail, but deputies were told that the man was on a “do not accept” list and could not be taken. The deputy then took the man to his house and told him to refrain from going on the church property, and he stated “but it’s my property”.
Matter of record
Man reports a threatening email from someone he doesn’t know. The email said that it would expose the user’s search history if he didn’t send enough BitCoin. Deputy tells the man to check his computer for viruses and keep a watch on his bank account for fraudulent activity. A report was written.
Damage to Property
Deputy dispatched to SR-404 Eastbound for a vehicle that hit debris in the roadway. The driver was travelling in the left lane going eastbound; the vehicle in front of her swerved to the right to avoid a ripped-up tire, but she ultimately couldn’t. The driver was not injured and the vehicle
