Richmond Hill United Methodist Church will host a blood drive from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the church fellowship hall.
The blood drive will help Richmond Hill High School student Marena Canday win a $1,000 college scholarship from the American Red Cross. She has to collect at least 35 units.

Church service
A traditional service of “Lessons and Carols” will be featured during Christmas Eve worship at Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church at 12965 Hwy. 144, west of the Publix.
The service, which starts at 6:30 p.m., will also include the Sacrament of Communion and a candle-lighting ceremony. All ages are welcome.

Library closed
The Richmond Hill Public Library will close for the Christmas holiday at 6 p.m. Wednesday and will reopen at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27.
The library will also be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1-2 for New Year’s and will reopen at 10 a.m. Jan. 3.

Meeting nixed
The Richmond Hill Planning Commission meeting slated for Dec. 27 has been canceled for the holidays.
The commission’s next meeting is set for Jan. 10.

Open auditions
Richmond Hill Community Theatre is seeking five men and three women for its coming Murder/Mystery Dinner production.
Open auditions will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Richmond Hill Public Library and from 7-9 p.m. Jan. 11 at What’s the Scoop Café in Richmond Hill.
