Wildcats Jalen Murray wins boys Class AAAAAA cross country title

Richmond Hill High School’s Jalen Murray is the Class AAAAAA cross country state champ.

Murray won the 2018 boys state meet Friday at Carrollton High School by covering the 3.1 mile 5K course in 15 minutes, 58.45 seconds – more than a minute faster than second place finisher Jack Filan of Cambridge.

Murray’s teammate, Leon Zeiger, finished 18th while Justice Quiller (49), Kyle Rushing (63), Ethan Starbird (69), Corey Adamski (77) and Ryan Starbird (86) also raced for the Wildcats, helping coach Levi Sybert's team to a sixth-place finish in the team competition.  

In the girls' race, Richmond Hill's Kayla Gholar finished eighth to lead the Wildcats to an eighth place finish, along with teammates Anecia Prater-Lockley, Taylor Elkins,  Stella Pierre-Louis, Kaylee Kim, Mackenzie Winkworth and Morgan Kim.
