Sports roundup: RHHS boys finish at 23-8 on diamond

Richmond Hill High School’s baseball team finished the 2019 season 23-8 after falling to Grovetown in the first round of the Class AAAAAA tournament last week.

The Wildcats lost 9-4 and 6-5 in the best of three series.

SOCCER:

Richmond Hill High School will play host Thursday to Houston County at 5:30 p.m. in the second round of the boys state Class AAAAAA soccer tournament.

The Wildcats (12-5-1) advanced with a 7-1 win over Evans on April 26.

The Lady Wildcats (12-5-1) also advanced to the Sweet 16, beating Grovetown 2-1 on April 25. The Lady Wildcats played at Houston County on Wednesday night.

TRACK AND FIELD:

Richmond Hill High School will send 17 boys and two relay teams to the Class AAAAAA sectionals on Saturday at Valdosta High.

The girls team will include 15 athletes and three relay teams.
