About Bass Fishing:

Each 2 person team is in a boat with a captain driving the boat.  The captain is typically a parent.

GHSA has four tournaments in which teams can qualify for the state championship. That will be held on May 4th, 2024. at Clarks Hill Lake near Augusta, GA. To qualify for the state tournament, teams must be in the top 27-30 boats. Two teams qualified for the state championship in the first tournament at Seminole Lake.  Only 6 teams are allowed to compete in each of the qualifying tournaments for GHSA, so there are limits on who can enter each of those tournaments.

The Georgia B.A.S.S. Nation has five tournaments in their high school trail, and we are allowed to enter unlimited boats in their tournaments. To qualify for their state championship, anglers must be in the top 85% of the angler of the year points as well as fish in at least three of their tournaments. This is determined at the end of the season.

GHSA Schedule:

1/20, Lake Seminole (Bainbridge)

  • RHHS had two teams qualify for the state championship out of 243 teams fishing.  Champion/Behringer weighed in 4 fish for 9lbs (tied for 10th place).  Pluff/Osden weighed in 4 fish for 6 lbs 13 oz (17th place).

  •  3/16, West Point Lake (LaGrange)
