Recreation and Parks Association honors local staff and volunteers

The Georgia Recreation and Parks Association's District 2 Awards Banquet recently was held in Douglas Georgia.

 

Volunteer Bryant Easterling won the Terry Thompson Award - Volunteer of the year. It recognizes volunteers whose efforts have had lasting effects on programs and/or the community. Volunteers may be recognized for service to any aspect of the leisure services movement (i.e. athletics, therapeutics, parks, commercial, outdoor, etc.).

 

Recreation Director Dr. Samose Mays won the James A. Colley Award for Excellence in Rec Administration. It recognizes the individual who exemplifies excellence in the recreation field. This award is reserved for individuals who have excelled in situations where they are primarily responsible for the supervision and implementation of recreation, parks, or leisure services programs. This is the highest honor bestowed on a district professional.

 

Athletic Supervisor Terry Ramble won the Carl Hager Award - Excellence in Rec Programming. It recognizes individuals who have made outstanding and lasting contributions to the programming aspect of the recreation profession in the second district. This is the highest award the district programmers can bestow on one of its members.

 

Administrative Assistant Acacia Davis won the Thad Studstill Award, honoring day-to-day operations. It recognizes individuals who have made outstanding and lasting contributions to the office administration aspect of the recreation profession in the second district. This is the highest award the district office administrators can bestow on one of its members.
