Wildcats fall to Effingham in 3-AAAAA contest

Richmond Hill’s softball team was in Springfield Tuesday afternoon where the Lady Rebels took a 4-1 win in a Region 3-AAAAA game. Official stats have yet to be posted but according to box scores available one maxpreps.com the Wildcats had a 1-0 lead in the first inning. The Effingham girls quickly turned the game to their advantage adding two runs in the second inning and driving in two more unanswered runs in the third for the victory.

Despite the Lady Rebels’ four fielding errors the Wildcats weren’t able to cross home plate. They managed just four hits in the game.

Meanwhile Effingham used their seven hits and capitalized on three Wildcat errors to hold the lead.

The Richmond Hill girls drop to 10-7 overall and 2-1 in the region. They will play South Effingham Thursday in Guyton in another region contest. The Lady Rebels are 15-2 overall and undefeated at 4-0 in the region.
