Among the year's top performances in 2011 was that turned in by Richmond Hill High School senior Shaquille Walker. Walker, now at Brigham Young University on a track and field scholarship, won his second consecutive state 800 title in May at the boys' state Class AAAA track meet in Jefferson. In 2010, Walker won the 800 in Class AAA. But he wasn't the only one to make a splash at the state track meet. Bryan County High School's Kimberly Williams, below, finished second in the girls' high jump in Class A for the second straight season. Williams is now a freshman and is running track and cross country at Chattahoochee Tech. Check out more top stories from our look back at 2011 in upcoming issues of the Bryan County News.
