The Bryan County High School softball team hosted its biggest fundraiser of the season July 9-10 at Hendrix Park.
The Summer Slam tournament expanded the bank account of our Lady Redskins by more than $5,000. The tournament was a major success for the program and continues to raise more income every year it is held.
This year, 12 high school teams, including Savannah Christian, Long County, Metter, New Hampstead, South Effingham, McIntosh County, Bacon County, Pierce County, Islands, Vidalia, Richmond Hill and Bryan County, competed for the championship title. However, at the end of the day, Savannah Christian came home the overall winner with Long County deemed as the runner-up.
Kaylin Leggett is a sophomore at BCHS and a member of the Lady Redskins varsity softball team. She is a sports intern for the Bryan County News.
