Run camp for teens next week
Summer Slam July 15-17

Georgia Game Changers and the Coastal YMCA are hosting a three-day running camp for teens beginning Monday at the Richmond Hill YMCA. The camp is for kids ages 13-18 and will be from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. For more information call the YMCA at 756-5856.

Summer Slam
Bryan County High School’s 2014 Summer Slam softball tournament is July 15-17 at Hendrix Park. The tournament will include varsity and junior varsity teams from around the area. Admission is $5 per day and concessions will be available.

Bryan County Open
The First Bryan County Open is coming July 12-13 to Black Creek Golf Club. For more information about the Bryan County Open, call Black Creek  Golf Club at 858-4653.

Pickup games
The South Bryan County Recreation Department is sponsoring summer pick up games for kids and adults beginning this month. Kids ages 12 and up are invited to meet  at 6 p.m. every Tuesday in June for ultimate frisbee  at the multipurpose field or at 6 p.m. each Thursday at the Rec Gym for basketball. In July, kids can meet at 6 p.m. Tuesdays for basketball at the gym or at 6 p.m. Thursdays for dodge ball at the gym.
 Adult pickup basketball and volleyball games are from 7-9 p.m. on Mondays at the rec gym. All games are free. Teams are welcome.

Fire Prevention tourney
The first annual Bryan County Fire Prevention Softball Tournament is July 11-12 at Hendrix Park in Black Creek.
The entry fee is $200 per team.  Teams must be between 10-15 players for the double-elimination tourney, which will get under way at 6:30 p.m. July 11 and at 8 a.m. July 12.

8th Coastal Cheer Camp
The 8th Annual Coastal Cheer Camp hosted by the Richmond Hill High School Cheerleader Booster Club is from 8:30 a.m.-noon July 21-25 at the school’s east gym. The camp is for girls in Pre-K through 8th grade and will be conducted by RHHS football and competition cheerleaders and coach Brittnee Coffman.
Cost is $75 if registered by July 14, late registration is $85. Registration includes t-shirt and daily snack, and additional t-shirts can be pre-ordered for $12 each. For more information email rhhscompetitioncheerleaders@yahoo.com and put “Cheer Camp” in the subject line.

Robert Sapp Camp
The 34th annual Robert Sapp Baseball Camp is is accepting applications for its summer sessionTuesday through Saturday at Richmond Hill Park. Camps are from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and are for boys’ ages 7-14. Information and brochures on Robert Sapp camps can be obtained by calling the South Bryan County Recreation Department at 912-756-4626 or Sapp at 770-287-3309 or by emailing rsbbcamp@charter.net. Brochures can be picked up at SBRCD, and at concession stands in Richmond Hill, Pembroke, Hendrix Park, Springfield, Hinesville and Pooler.

Safe Kids Savannah Youth Triathlon
Register now for second annual Safe Kids Savannah Youth Triathlon, Sept. 6 in Savannah. The event that will be geared toward youth ages 7 to 15. To register, go to www.runsignup.com and click on the “Race” tab at the top of the page. Registration forms are also available at Fleet Feet Sports located at 3405 Waters Ave. and at the Chatham County Aquatic Center on Sallie Mood Drive. The triathlon will take place in and around the Chatham County Aquatic Center and Lake Mayer in Savannah.

 *All bicycles and bicycle helmets must be inspected by Safe Kids Savannah Youth Triathlon staff in order to be used in the triathlon.
