Richmond Hill prepares to host 2-AAAA tourney

The Region 2-AAAA tourney will get under way on Monday. Stay tuned for brackets on both the boy's and girls tournaments.

The Richmond Hill High School boys' basketball team won the game it had to on Tuesday, beating Brunswick 67-62 to stay tied for third in Region 2A-AAAA with Liberty County High School.
But the Wildcats couldn't get the break they needed the next day, losing a coin flip with the Panthers for the region's No. 3 seed in the postseason.
That means the Wildcats will be No. 4 when the Region 2-AAAA tournament gets under way next week.
"We were hoping to get the No. 3 seed but it just wasn't meant to be," RHHS coach William Altman said. Now, Richmond Hill will tangle with Lakeside-Evans at 8 p.m. Tuesday. If they win, they get to play Effingham County on Thursday at 8 p.m. with a possible trip to the state playoffs on the line.
