Bryan County girls basketball coach Mario Mincey never hesitates at an opportunity to provide exposure to college coaches for not only his athletes but those at competing schools. His goal is to promote the sport and those who play it.

Therefore. Mincey didn’t hesitate in answering in the affirmative when Pro Movement Athletics contacted him about having a Southeast Preseason Showcase event for boys and girls at Bryan County High School.

“We (the school) don’t have anything to do with the event other than hosting it,” Mincey said. “Pro Movement is running everything but when they called me about the school hosting it I thought it would be a great opportunity for kids to get exposure.

“This is not a team thing but it’s for individual players who will get an opportunity to show their skills,” Mincey said. “There will be college coaches in attendance and we will also be live streaming it for those who can’t be there.

“This is open to players from all over. It’s not limited to players in this area.”

As of this week a total of 35 girls and 30 boys had registered for an opportunity to put their talents on display. The event will be held at Bryan County High School on Sept. 12 and will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Limited to classes of 2027-2031 players can still register to participate. Cost is $50 prior to Sept. 1 and $75 beginning Sept. 2. In addition to having the opportunity to compete and be seen players will also get a highlight video.
