Richmond Hill bike shop recognized nationally
Game Changers Bike

Game Changers Bike and Multisport has been recognized by the National Bicycle Dealers Association as one of the best bike shops in America. The NBDA's “America's Best Bike Shops” program is designed to identify and reward bicycle stores in North America against the highest performance standards in the industry.

“We are very proud of this recognition" said co-owner John Cameron. “We are a small shop compared to many, but when I saw the opportunity to apply, I thought, why not us?”

To be considered for the award, a store representative (owner or manager) must apply by filling out a detailed application, as well as agreeing to be mystery shopped by an outside company. The on-line application asks shop owners to explain what sets them apart from the competition, how they develop customer loyalty, and what they are doing to make their corner of the globe more bicycle friendly.

“I made sure to tell them about the efforts we have made to bring a more robust cycling culture here in Richmond Hill,” Cameron said. “From group rides, cycling 101 classes, Ladies Night, women's specific retail space, and our support of Coastal Triathlon Club, we felt we were on the right track.”

Cameron is also on the board of the Georgia Coastal Greenway project which will add 155 miles of trail from Savannah to St Mary’s. The Georgia Coastal Greenway is part of the East Coast Greenway which, when completed, will stretch from Maine to Florida. He has met with state legislators along with his fellow board members to push the project through the required approval process. The project is expected to be completed in 5 years.

Applicants are awarded points based on the application and mystery shopping results, with only the highest performers being selected.

“We try to make sure every guest is treated respectfully whether they buy from us or not,” Cameron said. “Customers bring us bikes purchased from mass marketers for repair and that is perfectly fine. We repair all makes and models and do our best to get our customers back in the saddle as quickly as we can.

“We couldn't have done this without our terrific staff,” Cameron added. “This award is really for them and we are very thankful for their efforts.”

Game Changers Bike and Multisport opened in May of 2015 and currently resides in the Game Changers Health and Fitness Complex at 8872 Ford Ave.
