The Richmond Hill baseball team finished the regular season with two wins against Statesboro to take fourth place in Region 3-AAAAA.

After losing 5-3 to Statesboro at home last Monday, the Wildcats won 2-1 at Statesboro Wednesday and 8-1 at home Friday.

Parker Boyle went the distance Wednesday, giving up three hits while striking out five. Jackson Finley and Zach Haines each had an RBI.

“Parker really did a good job of batting through some tough situations to come out on top,” Coach Stacy Bennett said.

In Friday’s win, Finley and Kyle Luigs both struck out four batters while Haines and Braden Henle each had three hits. The Wildcats had six stolen bases, including three by Brennan Jamar.

“Jackson threw a lot of strikes and gave our offense a chance to manufacture some runs, which we were able to do,” Bennett said. “I hope we have a little momentum to carry us through the playoffs.”

Richmond Hill (13-8, 8-4) hosts Camden County (10-10, 6-6) in the regional tournament with a doubleheader at 4 p.m. Thursday. The “if necessary” game in the best-of-three series would be at 6 p.m. Friday.
