Halloween wasn't all tricks-or-treats for the cross country team at Richmond Hill High. With the temperature comfortable for the afternoon, the varsity boys and girls teams ran their Region 3 AAAAA meet, determined to do just as well as, if not better than, they did a few weeks ago at the Fishy Invite.
Amongst the ten region teams in attendance, both boys and girls brought home the first place trophies for the race.
Freshman Jennifer Thorpe took the overall first place prize, while second place Rachel Hammesfahr was not far behind. All seven of the Lady Wildcats placed in the top ten, helping them earn 21 points and the victors trophy.
Senior Tanner Hicks also placed first overall as well, with the rest of the boys, Caleb Carter, Will Hammesfahr, Garrett Franzel, Ryan Donna, Andrew Thorpe, and Kevin Zhu, placing in the top 15.
The awards ceremony was a bit more in the spirit of Halloween as the JV meet volunteers sprayed the victors in silly string to help them celebrate.
The cross country team's next, and final, meet will be held in Carrollton on November 8.
