Richmond Hill’s season came to end Thursday afternoon at Wildcat Field with a 3-2 loss to Dalton in the third and deciding game of their series in the Class AAAAA state softball tournament. The Lady Catamounts will head to the Elite Eight in Columbus.

Brooke Belflower hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning to give the Lady Catamounts the final margin.

"They had one big hit," RHHS head coach Angie Hummeldorf said.

Belflower hit a two-run homer Wednesday in game 1, propelling Dalton (23-11) to a 5-2 win. The Lady Wildcats (26-8) bounced back in the nightcap with a 4-1 victory, forcing Thursday’s rubber match.
