Bryan County track preps for regionals

Bryan County's Lianna Shuman wins the girls' 100-meter hurdles Thursday.

Several members of the Bryan County track and field teams performed well in an unscored home meet Thursday against Montgomery, Jenkins and Calvary Day ahead of next week’s regional meet at Southeast Bulloch.

Lianna Shuman was a double-winner for the Redskins, taking both the girls’ high jump and 100-meter hurdles.

Bryan County also took the top two spots in the boys’ discus and shot put. Malik Bostick won the discus at 128-feet-8 and Brandon Jones was second at 83-feet-3. Conner Schaffer was first in the shot put at 39-feet-1while Dominique Mock was second at 37-feet-9. Lindsay Bowen won the girls’ discus with a throw of 50-feet-8 and Naja Shellman was second at 48-feet-11.

Jabrai Boyd won the girls’ long jump at 13-feet-5 and Quran George took first among the boys at 19-feet-9.

The Redskins also won the girls’ 4x100 and 4x400 races.
