The inaugural Kids Play for Kids Tennis Tournament is set for Nov. 3-5 at Baker’s Pond and the Rincon YMCA in Effingham County.

The event will benefit homeless youth within Effingham County and will feature four divisions for ages 8 and older, including a novice division and an event that allows parents to play with kids.

“This is a great tourney for players who have never been in one before,” said tournament director Robert Brown. “The charity nature is conducive to good fun and local rivalry. It is our goal to return 100 percent of entry fees to charity thanks to the generosity of local businesses and the players.”

Entry fee is $45, which includes a Saturday lunch, a commemorative tee shirt, prizes and a minimum of two matches.  Refreshments will be available.

On the night of Nov. 4, for an additional nominal charitable fee, adults will get a chance to play doubles with and against local children. Underprivileged children wishing to participate may be eligible for a scholarship in to the tournament.
