Bryan County High School Head Football Coach Allen Cartwright has resigned his position, the school announced Monday in an email from Athletic Director Keith Wright.

“I have enjoyed my time here as the head football coach and I appreciate the opportunity which the superintendent, board members and principal have given me," Cartwright said. 

The email ended by noting: "Cartwright has made a positive impact on the lives of our student-athletes, BCHS, and the community. Bryan County School District and BCHS is appreciative of his hard work and dedication over the past two years."

Cartwright went 8-12 in two seasons at BCHS. There was no mention of when a new head coach will be named.
