I recently saw a quote used by the Army for recruiting purposes. It says, “The next step in your future is ready to be built.” This phrase is used in promotions for specific Army opportunities.

This phrase can also be applicable for the journey of believers in Jesus. We take steps every day that affect the lives we are building. We make decisions on which direction we will go as it pertains to all facets of life. God has a plan for each one of us. The key is for us to take steps that are according to His will, that are for our own good, and most importantly that will bring honor to Him. For some, your next step is admitting that you are a sinner and in need of Jesus as the forgiver of your sins.

For others, it is choosing to let Jesus truly be the Lord of your life. For others, it is finding out what ministry you ought to be involved in, using your gifts and talents to help build up Christ’s kingdom.

Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, there is a next step. You have to determine what this step is and be willing to take it.
