There is a lot of talk about a person’s investments and savings being secure, and there are some things put into place to make them more secure. One of those would be to practice God’s financial principles found in scripture.
However, the truth be told nothing we own is truly secure. Anything from a major depression to the devaluation of the dollar to the dissolving of companies to the total collapse of the economy and so on has the potential of affecting the value of what we are worth. I am not writing this to scare you but to make sure that your total trust is not in something that can fail or heavily disappoint.
There is something taught in the scriptures that can and will give us absolute security and it will never fail us or disappoint us. 1 Peter 1:4 gives us this assurance when it says that God has given those who have faith in Him “an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you”. No act of congress, no executive order, no finance board meeting, no catastrophe of any kind can affect what God has promised.
This guarantee isn’t for everyone but only for those of us who have faith in a God who has made a way for us to be saved. 1 Peter 1:5 goes on to remind us that this inheritance is reserved for those who have faith for salvation.
So, the most important question I can ask you is not, are you financially secure, which by the way has some merit, but are you spiritually secure? The good news is that you can be through a personal faith in God through His Son Jesus Christ.
