Listen for the voice of God
pastor corner

Just recently as I was on one of my prayer walks, I thought I heard the sound of a large animal in the woods. As I stopped to listen, I realized in the quietness there were all kinds of sounds that I was hearing. These were sounds that I had been unintentionally drowning out. I heard birds singing, drops of dew falling from the leaves of the trees, the wind whistling, frogs croaking, and other small animals crawling through the leaves on the ground. I even heard a small airplane in the distance. In our business we don’t take the time to stop and listen to these wonderful sounds of nature.

More importantly, we don’t take the time to stop and listen to what God is wanting to teach us. We don’t take the time to get quiet before God, reading His Word, and listening for what the Bible refers to as “a still small voice”. David in the Psalms says, “Be still and know that I am God”, and James reminds us to “be quick to listen”.

Life is busy and it is so easy to get wrapped up in this fast pasted world to where we don’t even hear when God is trying to speak to us. Each day get quiet before God expecting to hear from Him.
